NEIGHBORHOOD SPACES

COUNTRY CLUB

The main entrance to Fox Glen off Country Club creates the first impression of our neighborhood and is a key focus of the Neighborhood Improvement Project. The entrance is divided into four sections—front middle, back middle, left, and right—all of which require ongoing care and attention. The Red Oak trees on both the left and right sides were recently professionally trimmed, improving safety and appearance, and allowing us to shift focus toward irrigation improvements and refreshed landscaping to better support long-term health and visual appeal.

COTTONWOOD/PECAN SPLIT

The well-known “Y” at the Cottonwood/Pecan split—passed by daily by many residents—has recently been addressed with the removal of the diseased Red Oak, as recommended by the arborist. The next step is planting a 95-gallon Bur Oak (4–6” trunk diameter) in this highly visible location. The current cost for a planted tree of this size is approximately $1,585, and funding will determine when this improvement can move forward. The surrounding landscaping will also be refreshed as part of this effort when funds allow.

COTTONWOOD CUL-DE-SAC

At the end of Cottonwood is a Live Oak that was originally planted too deep and preserved through the construction of a retaining wall. The tree was recently professionally trimmed to support its health and improve safety. While this addressed the immediate tree-care needs, the surrounding cul-de-sac remains largely unimproved and has never been landscaped, leaving the area incomplete in appearance compared to other neighborhood entry points. Future enhancements will depend on available funding and homeowner cooperation.

HACKBERRY N. CUL-DE-SAC

At the north end of Hackberry, the cul-de-sac includes two mature trees that were recently professionally trimmed to improve safety and overall appearance. The surrounding area has also been cleared of weeds, addressing the most immediate maintenance concerns and restoring a cleaner, more orderly look. While no additional landscaping is planned at this time due to funding limitations, this area will remain on the list for future improvements as resources become available.

HACKBERRY S. CUL-DE-SAC

At the south end of Hackberry, the cul-de-sac is anchored by a mature Live Oak that was recently professionally trimmed to improve safety and overall appearance. Following the tree work, two homeowners generously contributed approximately $3,500 and completed landscaping improvements themselves, transforming what was once an underutilized space into a more welcoming and well-cared-for part of the neighborhood. Their initiative and investment are a great example of how individual efforts can make a meaningful impact on our shared community spaces.

MAPLE CUL-DE-SAC

Located at the back of the neighborhood, the Maple cul-de-sac includes a mature tree and surrounding area that were previously landscaped. At the request of a homeowner, this cul-de-sac is designated as homeowner-maintained, and no Neighborhood Improvement Project work has been performed in this area. Any future trimming, maintenance, or landscaping will continue to be handled by the homeowner.
